CFP regularly sponsors charities. In addition, each year an amount from the Facility Open is donated to a selected charity.

The Hunger Project

CFP participates in a group of Dutch businesses attempting to reduce poverty in one of the world's poorest countries. This group is united under the name Katakle which means "three-legged stool". This symbolises stability and power. The goal is to help eliminate hunger in Benin. To reach this goal, 10% of the population (700,000 people) require access to an epicenter (community project). The Katakle project is part of the umbrella organisation ‘The Hunger Project’. The Millenium Development Goals of the United Nations form the basis of the strategy of The Hunger Project.

CFP has chosen to support The Hunger Project because the causes of hunger and poverty are tackled at the source. The approach is ‘empowerment’  through which communities change themselves fundamentally and lastingly. The three pillars consist of

(1) village clusters mobilise themselves to take action

(2) empowerment of women

(3) fostering local leadership
